Using A Valve Retainer Lock Tool

High pressure seen by valve springs on engines today leads to locks becoming nearly embedded on their retainers making it extremely difficult to get them loose when changing valve springs on the car. The Valve Retainer Lock Tool can cut this removal time to just minutes.

To use the Valve Spring Retainer Lock Tool, simply fill the cylinder with air to hold the valve tight and position the Retainer Lock Cup over the retainer. Place the misalignment Drive Rod onto the Retainer Lock Cup and strike the Drive Rod with a hammer. After one or two strikes, you should hear a change in pitch and the seal around the retainer will now be loose.
